This month I continue to explain, phrase by phrase, our mission statement. Last month I wrote about what it means to be “united for His glory”; this month I explain what it means that we exist to “connect in mission.”

The Hispanic Baptist Network (RBH) exists to “connect us in mission”: we agree that a time like this requires a great commitment to the Great Commandment to love God with all our being (Mark 12:30), the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:18-20), in a Great Collaboration. “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work” (Ephesians 4:14-16).
The healthy growth of the body of Christ requires that each believer fulfill their role within the body while lovingly communicating God's principles and purposes. Therefore, RBH seeks to do this intentionally and passionately within the Southern Baptist context, leveraging our denominational structure to strive to live according to these principles.
We serve as a ministerial connection point, catalyzing local, national, and international ministry opportunities.
This may involve informing people about an opportunity through a local church to equip themselves to serve their community, connecting a potential church planter with their state convention and/or the North American Mission Board (NAMB Send Network Español), or connecting someone called to international missions with the IMB (International Mission Board).
It's a great time to "connect in mission" in great collaboration in Christ!
